A shared calendar of your child for parents who live apart
One schedule of your child for both parents: staying days, events and changes — with confirmation and a history of agreements.
What a shared child calendar is
A shared child calendar is a single schedule that both parents can see, even if they live apart. It records who the child is with on a given day, their events and agreements. This kind of calendar helps parents after divorce or separation plan their time without constant clarification over messages.
Unlike a personal calendar or a messenger chat, a shared child calendar belongs to both parents: changes appear in it only by agreement, and the history is preserved.
What parents record in a child calendar
- the days the child stays with each parent;
- visits and handover times;
- school, clubs, sports sections and tutors;
- doctor visits and routine procedures;
- trips, holidays, birthdays and school breaks;
- changes to individual days by agreement.
How calendar changes are agreed
Plans change: a business trip, an illness, a birthday invitation. So that every change doesn't turn into a long discussion in a messenger, it helps to frame it as a proposal: one parent proposes swapping specific days, the other accepts, declines or offers a counter-option. The change takes effect only after confirmation, and both sides see the same version of the calendar.
How this differs from a regular calendar
A regular calendar shows events but doesn't help you agree. A calendar for divorced parents is also a space of agreements: proposals with confirmation, discussions tied to a specific day or event, expense tracking and a change history that can be exported to a document.
The calendar in the SGL app
SGL is a shared calendar and agreement service for parents who live apart. One parent creates a family space and invites the other with a link; from then on, staying days, events, change proposals, discussions and expenses are managed in one place. The service is being prepared for launch on iOS, Android and the web — request early access and we will help transfer your family's current schedule.
You can ask questions about the service at hello@getsgl.com.
